About Peaks and Provisions
Hi there! My name is Brittany, the one behind Peaks and Provisions. Here is a little bit about how Peaks and Provisions came to be. I hope this gives you a little bit of insight on who I am and why I am sharing all of this with you!
While growing up in New England, having a love for the outdoors was practically one of my family’s values. My childhood was full of travel, adventures, and on-of-a-kind experiences. I was lucky enough to travel to places like Greece, Hawaii, and Canada. Quickly, I became infatuated with what was out there and began to plan just how I was going to see it all.

Flash forward to college, I moved down to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University. In December of 2014, I embarked on one of the most life-altering experiences to date – studying abroad in Thailand. When the semester was over, I went backpacking throughout Southeast Asia and China solo. I was hooked on exploring new cities, meeting new people, immersing myself in different cultures, and completely owning my bucket list.
I spent the rest of my time in college taking advantage of every opportunity I could to travel. From interning at a sea turtle and shark conservation center in Ecuador, to volunteering with a HIV/AIDS foundation in Kenya, to driving the Pacific Coast Highway solo during spring break. I even got myself a job working in the Office of International Programs and Services at my university. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Global Health Issues and moved back home to Massachusetts.

That summer, I reconnected with my now fiancé! Like any great love story, he took a new job in California and moved to the Bay Area a few months later. We spent 2 1/2 weeks driving from Boston to San Francisco on an epic cross-country road trip. While visiting many new cities and a dozen National Parks along the way.. I fell in love. The next couple of years were full of west coast adventures and redeye flights between California and Massachusetts. I found true beauty in vastly different landscapes found around the country. I decided I wanted to see more of it and my bucket list quickly grew.

These days, I’m learning how to balance my full-time job as a Senior Program Manager for a cellular therapy program in Boston and my love for travel, adventure, and finding the best local cuisine. You can find me hiking, skiing, fishing, or pretty much anywhere outdoors. Then I’ll be finding the best local food and drinks. Aside from all of that, I am a proud mom to my 1 year old Australian Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog puppy named Lincoln, my 6 year old cat named Rio, and everything that lives in our fresh and saltwater fishtanks (haha!).
My blogging venture began as I went abroad solo for the first time. That page was an outlet for me to write about my day to day life and for my family to keep up with what I was doing since they were 12 hours behind me. After much trial and error, and many name changes, my blog grew into a website. Peaks and Provisions was born. A website dedicated to enjoying the outdoors and finding the best locally sourced dishes and drinks.
Since then, Peaks and Provisions has become a huge part of my life and I hope to inspire others to create their own adventure and see the world on their terms – even while working full-time.
